Pontypool Chess Club has been part of the town's life for decades. We meet every week for casual games, friendly rivalry and the occasional brilliancy, and we run competitive teams across the Welsh Chess Premier League and the Gwent County leagues.
You don't need to be any good, and you don't need to bring anything but yourself. Sets, boards, clocks and a warm welcome are all provided. Beginners get a hand, improvers get a game that stretches them, and league players get serious competition.
